Credit Transfer
As an official program of Williams College, Williams-Mystic is considered the coastal campus of Williams College. Students who attend Williams-Mystic receive an official transcript from Williams College, who awards credit for the equivalent of four courses and one winter study.
Williams College uses the 4-1-4 calendar which requires students on campus to take 4 courses in the fall semester, 1 project during Winter Study, and 4 courses in the spring semester. The program of courses taught at Williams-Mystic is considered to be the equivalent of a full semester plus a Winter Study at Williams College.
Converting credits from one calendar system to another is likely to be more of an approximation than an absolutely accurate replication.
- Semester credits. If you or your institution wishes to convert to semester credits, we suggest considering each of our courses to be the equivalent of 4.5 semester hours or a total of 18 semester-hour credits for the program.
- Quarter credits. If you or your institution wishes to convert to quarter credits, we suggest considering each of our courses to the equivalent of 6.75 quarter hours or a total of 27 quarter-hour credits for the program.
