Apply by February 14 for a paid internship with Crowley Maritime Corporation
Williams-Mystic continues to enjoy a strong partnership with Crowley Maritime Corporation and its president Tom Crowley — so much so that Tom Crowley presented Williams-Mystic with the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Maritime Education last May in Washington, D.C.
Williams-Mystic alumni are now invited to apply for a paid internship with Crowley Maritime Corporation during the summer of 2020. Crowley’s internship program offers a carefully monitored and meaningful learning experience for those who wish to learn more about a company deeply involved in multiple aspects of our watery world. Interns are paid a stipend for housing in addition to an hourly wage.
Over the past several years, Crowley has supported two Williams-Mystic interns, both of whom have described their experiences as extraordinary. Aislyne Calianos (F’15), now a law student at Tulane, interned in the legal department last summer. Here’s how Aislyne describes her experience:
“I loved my time with the legal department at Crowley this summer, and I would definitely consider working for a company like Crowley if the opportunity arose. The work itself was engaging and exciting, and Crowley’s emphasis on people and culture make it a particularly attractive employer.”
To apply, email Tom Van Winkle ([email protected]) an updated resume or CV along with a cover letter explaining your interest in and qualifications for this internship no later than Friday, February 14, 2020. Williams-Mystic will select up to two candidates and pass their names along to Crowley, which will make further arrangements. Opportunities are available in a range of departments and locations, including Jacksonville, FL, Port Everglades, FL, Anchorage, AK, and the Seattle area. This opportunity is open to all Williams-Mystic alumni, regardless of age and irrespective of student status. Please email Tom with any questions.
